Alyson Davies and Marie Winters work has been intertwined in a variety of contemporary modes to address the ideas of femininity, class, and history through performative identities. The duo’s performances creates a parodic self-representations that engage with and satirize our own levels of privilege. As emerging artists, Winters and Davies are seeking to move our work in a publicly engaging direction.
The artists have worked collaboratively for several years under the moniker of Tennis Club. Their work often touch upon themes of the body, performativity, selfie culture, materialism, voyeurism, sexuality, digital media, identity, domesticity, class, feminism, sport, leisure, desire, economics, the landscape, repetition and redundancy.
